Despite the recession Castle Marinas Ltd is implementing an on-going programme of upgrades and improvements across its entire portfolio of five inland and three coastal marinas with Royal Clarence marina at Gosport being the beneficiary of ambitious new plans.

10 September 2010 – Castle Marinas Ltd, unusual for operating both coastal and inland marinas, continues to invest in major improvements to its marinas, despite the recession. Subject to final planning consent, works are anticipated to start at the end of January 2011 at Castle’s marina at Royal Clarence in Gosport. Castle has applied for planning permission to re-configure the marina to facilitate more berths and accommodate a wider range of boat lengths. This development is part of Castle Marinas’ declared strategy to look for growth through acquisition whilst continually improving all eight of its existing marinas. Tony Dye, Operations Manager for Castle Marinas Ltd, comments, “Despite the recession and our extended price freeze on annual berthing rates, we are continuing to undertake upgrades and improvements to our marinas. The new development at Royal Clarence is evidence that we are not standing still – we want to improve the customer experience through improved facilities. Dye continues, “A good example of adding value for our customers is the reciprocal visitor berthing between Royal Clarence and Birdham Pool, our marina in Chichester harbour.” Castle Marinas is also a member of TransEurope Marinas – another major benefit for berth holders. With over forty marinas in the TransEurope scheme, twenty of which are in the UK, permanent berth holders at one of Castle’s coastal marinas can benefit from significant discounts when visiting another member marina – currently a 50% discount for up to five consecutive days.
