An ever-rising number of local authorities now use Panztel’s eziTracker service for the electronic verification of service provision by independent home care providers contracted to deliver domiciliary care.  To date social care workers have been required to use landlines, not mobiles, as the latter could not pinpoint their real time whereabouts and verify a site visit.  In response to demand from local authorities Panztel have launched eziTracker Mobile, with site verification via a mobile phone met by using unique coded site tags which are kept at a client’s home.

29 August 2012 – With domiciliary care now typically contracted to independent home care providers, local authorities funding this provision have rightly required some form of electronic verification of service and that is why an ever rising number of local authorities around the UK now use the eziTracker system from Panztel, the specialist provider of staff monitoring systems for remote workforces. Up to now the service has required the use of the landline telephone network and data capture technology to provide real time information of the whereabouts of social care workers, enabling management to fully and effectively monitor remote staff including those employed by independent home care providers.

Mobile phones have not been permitted as these could not pinpoint the real time whereabouts of staff employed by independent home care providers. Always at the forefront of technological developments and in response to demand from local authorities, Panztel have now launched eziTracker Mobile with a breakthrough development to overcome the problem of site visit verification with mobiles.

Commenting on the launch of eziTracker Mobile, Jonathan Hudson, Managing Director of Panztel (UK) Ltd, said, “We had long recognised that a mobile phone based monitoring service was preferable to using landline for carers who have constantly changing schedules and for homecare staff who need to be able to record more extensive information about their visits than can be delivered via a fixed line phone.

“The challenge of course was obtaining site verification via a mobile phone but we have resolved this with the use of unique coded site tags which are kept at a client’s home. Each eziTracker Mobile phone automatically synchronises with eziTracker whenever it is connected, either via the mobile phone network or via Wi-Fi.

There are other important benefits of eziTracker Mobile too; for example it allows carers to receive changes to their care plans immediately whilst they are away from the office and enables the carer to send more information on a site visit than basic time and attendance details; not least the system can of course be used when there is no fixed line telephone available”.
