Despite the recession, Castle Marinas Ltd continues with its on-going upgrade and improvement programme across its portfolio of five inland and three coastal marinas with additional finger pontoons at Royal Clarence marina at Gosport being the latest major investment.

15 June 2011Castle Marinas Ltd, unusual for operating both coastal and inland marinas, continues to invest in major improvements to its three coastal and five inland marinas, despite the recession.

Castle has recently completed the work to re-configure its marina at Royal Clarence in Gosport, providing new finger pontoons that can now accommodate a wider range of boat lengths.

This development is part of Castle Marinas’ declared strategy to look for growth through acquisition whilst continually improving all eight of its existing marinas.

Sam Bourne, Operations Director for Castle Marinas Ltd, comments, “Our programme of marina upgrades continues despite the difficult trading conditions for the UK marine industry, and the latest major investment in additional berths at Royal Clarence is hard evidence that we are not standing still – we want to improve the customer experience through more and better facilities.

Bourne continues, “Just 10 minutes from Portsmouth Harbour entrance, Royal Clarence has a lively bar and restaurant, and fully serviced pontoon berths together with an extensive range of on-site marine services; it’s also proved to be a popular event base for races and rallies over the years, so we are optimistic we can fill these additional berths”.
