Signs of recovery

Demand for signs by businesses and organisations is a good barometer of economic activity – that’s the view of Signbox Ltd, UK market leader in architectural signage.

17 May 2010 – Signbox Ltd, the long established architectural signage specialist, has seen a strong uplift in the volume of enquiries – and sales – in the last three months for its range of corporate signage solutions and workplace related signs – more evidence of a UK economy emerging from recession. According to a recent report by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), commercial property letting is continuing to rise across the UK. As the economy stabilises, surveyors have reported that enquiries from potential occupiers are increasing in the regions; whilst in the capital demand for new commercial space is slowly improving in the West End and City. External and internal signage is always one of the first requirements for companies moving into rented office space, new business start-ups and when new commercial buildings or office refurbishment projects are completed. Mark Bartlett, managing director for Signbox, comments, “There is evidence that the level of demand for signs is a good barometer of economic activity – we at Signbox have seen a marked increase in the volume of enquiries, including large rebranding projects, since the beginning of the year. Other evidence such as the RICS report does support the view that UK PLC is emerging from recession. “As recovery gathers pace, businesses will expand again taking on new office, commercial or industrial space and signage becomes a necessity – whether it is corporate branding, ‘wayfinding’ signage or everyday workplace signs”.
