Increasingly stringent Health & Safety legislation, along with more demanding insurance requirements, means that construction sites must now have adequate fire detection and evacuation warning systems in place to protect site personnel – Tag Guard’s Fire Alert product range was specifically developed to meet these needs.

12 February 2010 – Developed from the highly successful TagAlarm range of security products, wireless security specialist Tag Guard Ltd has now launched its recently introduced Fire Alert range throughout Europe. Increasingly stringent Health & Safety legislation, along with more demanding insurance requirements, means that construction sites must now have adequate fire detection and evacuation warning systems in place to protect site personnel. Specifically designed to meet these needs, the TagAlarm Fire Alert range is battery operated, wireless, portable and fully monitored by Tag Guard’s remote monitoring centres. Being fully portable the Fire Alert products can easily be moved to new locations or positions, as work on the building or construction site progresses. They are equally suited to major refurbishment or renovation projects where the existing (permanent) fire systems have been temporarily decommissioned or deactivated. The TagAlarm Fire Alert range offers three levels of protection: 1. Wireless smoke detectors providing a base level of fire detection. 2. Detection and evacuation warning system for site personnel; this includes break-glass units with klaxons for localised audible warnings. 3. The ‘maximum’ level – this includes all TagAlarm Fire Alert products but with the addition of a ‘Master Blaster’ siren for evacuation of the whole site. All TagAlarm Fire Alert products can also be installed as part of a standard TagAlarm security system. Tag Guard’s European sales drive has met with a notable early success, having been chosen for use during the extensive refurbishment of the Sportpaleis Ahoy exhibition centre in Rotterdam – one of the largest exhibition centres in Europe. Due to the fact that the complex is still open to the public during the renovation, it was essential that fire alarms throughout the exhibition centre were operational during the construction phase but renovation meant that the permanent, hard-wired system had to be deactivated. Tag Guard’s Fire Alert Systems was considered the ideal solution by the major contractor as the portable, wireless nature of the Fire Alert range meant they were easy to install and could be moved to new locations as the renovation progressed. Thus safety of the site personnel and the public would not be compromised in any way.
