Good finish of 2011 for Telio

Telio continues to deliver strong results, thereby confirming their position as a leading European provider of access independent broadband telephone services. Telio increased its customer base by 3,938 net new customers in the fourth quarter. Revenues in the fourth quarter ended at NOK 95.9 million.

-         We are satisfied with the closing of 2011. The growth in the customer base in the third quarter continued in the fourth quarter. In addition to an increase in customer intake in the markets outside Norway, it is encouraging to see that the efforts in the business segment are showing good growth in customer intake, says Eirik Lunde, CEO of Telio Holding ASA.

Introducing new services

Telio introduced fixed and mobile broadband services at the end of the fourth quarter. With these new services in addition to a new MVNO agreement, Telio provides a complete and competitive service offering to both the residential and the business segment. The offering now comprises broadband telephony, fixed broadband, mobile, mobile broadband and web based switchboard.

Strong growth in the business segment

The focus on the business segment in Norway is showing promising results with a net increase of 1,175 lines in fourth quarter (680 lines in third quarter).

OBOS chooses Telio

29 November 2011, Telio announced an agreement with OBOS. From January 2012, 300 000 OBOS members can get broadband and mobile phone services at more favorable prices due to this agreement with Telio.

Continued growth in international markets

Telio continues to grow in the markets outside Norway. Especially, the Dutch operation has achieved strong growth and the company now has a customer base of 51,000 subscribers in the Netherlands. Net increase in customers in the Netherlands was 3,541 while the increase was 746 customers in Switzerland in the fourth quarter. Denmark had a weaker quarter with net loss of 287 customers.

Strong financial results

In the 4th quarter 2011, the Telio Group achieved revenues of NOK 95.9 million compared to NOK 100.4 million in the year-ago quarter. EBITDA before one-off cost related to VAT claim was NOK 27.6 million (28.8% EBITDA margin) compared to NOK 32.4 million (32.2 % EBITDA margin) in the same quarter last year. Operating profit before one-off cost related to VAT claim ended at NOK 18 million compared to NOK 22.3 million in the 4th quarter of 2010. Revenues and results from the third quarter 2011 are negatively affected by the introduction of VAT on electronic services from 1 July 2011.
