Nexus Signs Agreement with TeliaSonera about Delivery of Electronic Identity Products. Nexus and TeliaSonera have signed an agreement that concerns the employment of Nexus' products in TeliaSonera's electronic identity service. TeliaSonera took over the operation of the Swedish Post's Certificate Authority service in September 2003. The agreement with Nexus concerns both the renewal of already purchased licenses and new licenses. TeliaSonera has, through its agreement with the Swedish Post, made a commitment to continue the electronic identity services that were previously operated by the Swedish Post. The Swedish Post has, in the same agreement, committed itself to continue to make these services available to its customers via the Swedish Cashier Service and the Internet. TeliaSonera will, through the agreement with Nexus, gain access to Nexus' products for the publication, verification and distribution of electronic certificates. These functions are central components in TeliaSonera's basic E-security service that can be employed for electronic identification, electronic signing and encryption. The SIS-approved identity card equipped with an electronic chip is the E-security product that is most well known to the general public. Certificate management products delivered by Nexus are used to generate electronic certificates for these cards. "Historically, we have had a close collaboration with the Swedish Post and it has been a strong influence on the development of our products. Now, in a more mature market that benefits from the improved standardisation, we look forward to the cooperation with TeliaSonera. Their broad range of products and services, high quality facilities for customer support and commitment towards E-security is a platform that can support the increased market demand that we expect. One reason that we expect the market demand to increase, is the 24 hour authority concept that is being implemented in Sweden." says Gustaf Malmros, executive vice president and business area manager for Nexus Secured Business Solutions.
