The German Defence Force orders Nexus solutions for authentication of digital identities
Nexus has received an order from the German Defence Force, Bundeswehr, regarding deliveries and implementation of Nexus products for authentication of electronic certificates/ID’s. The order includes software licenses for Nexus “Servant OCSP” and has a value of approximately SEK 1 million.
- We are very happy that Bundeswehr now chooses to also implement our solutions for information security and identity security in their already existing Nexus infrastructure. This is a status project and utilisation of electronic certificates is regulated by law in Germany. The order highlights our leading position of technology for digital identities in Europe, says Patrik Svanström, acting Managing Director for Technology Nexus Secured Business Solutions AB.
The German Defence Force serves as a secure and competent body for the issuance of digital identities, called Trust Centre. A Trust Centre produce, issue and manage electronic identities that enable secure management of sensitive information and processes. The electronic identities are used by military and civilian personnel in the defence forces as digital IDs. By this the staff will be able to sign and encrypt e-mails and attach documents electronically. This ensures that information is correct and that it cannot be intercepted by any outside source.
Nexus deliver its solutions in cooperation with its German partner, T-Systems. T-Systems is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.
