Volvo Car Alcoguard


The car industry’s first factory-fitted alcolock. The driver breathes into the hand-held unit, a pump conveys the exhaled air to the fuel cell. Alcohol molecules present in the air are caught by the fuel cell’s platinum membrane and cause a current in the fuel cell. The more alcohol molecules there are the greater the current. The strength of this current in turn determines which of the three LEDs in the hand unit lights up: green, yellow or red.

Over Volvo Car Group   Volvo Cars werd opgericht in 1927. Vandaag de dag is het een van de bekendste en meest gerespecteerde automerken ter wereld, met klanten in meer dan 100 landen. Volvo Cars had gemiddeld 42.600 fulltime werknemers in dienst. Het hoofdkantoor, de productontwikkeling, marketing en administratie van Volvo Cars zijn voornamelijk gevestigd in Göteborg, Zweden. De productiefabrieken van Volvo Cars bevinden zich in Göteborg, Gent (België), South Carolina (VS), Chengdu, Daqing en Taizhou (China). Het bedrijf heeft ook R&D- en ontwerpcentra in Göteborg en Shanghai (China).
