Norwegian International Morten Gamst Pedersen re-signs with Blackburn
Morten Gamst Pedersen finally renewed his contract with the Blackburn Rovers in the British Premier League on Wednesday. This means that the star midfielder will be at the club for at least another 4 years.
The 4-year contract makes Pedersen one of Blackburn's most experienced players. The fact that Pedersen was a free transfer made him popular with other clubs such as Palermo, Fiorentina, Fenerbahce and Celtic.
“Blackburn always was my first choice. We have a united team, great management and brilliant supporters. Also, there aren’t many footballers who get the opportunity to stay with one Premier League club for 10 years. I did and I want to honour that”, Pedersen said.
Blackburn officials agree that Pedersen has become a priority for the club in the past few seasons and has blossomed into one of Premier League's most capable players on the left side of midfield.
“Pedersen is one of our most dedicated and professional players. We're glad to finally have a contract in place and look forward to the new season, said Sam Allardyce, Manager of Blackburn Rovers.

The renewal of Pedersen's contract with Blackburn coincides with the launch of his website www.gamsten.no. The website is unique in two ways: it has no official sponsors and was created on Pedersen's own initiative. The website aims to give an insight to the life of a professional footballer.
“This is something that I've wanted to do for a long time. My website enables me to give voice to the footballer on the pitch as well as connect with supporters. My intention is to write about the game from a footballer’s perspective; the adrenaline rush before a game, the highs and the lows”, Pedersen said.
Blackburn's team management not only approves of but also encourages the website.
As long as the main focus is on the game, we’re happy to see our players take initiatives that help them grow both as individuals and footballers, Sam Allardyce continues.
