Interim Report 1, January-March 2000 The Nobel Biocare Group * Sales increased by 17% to total SEK 478.1 million (409.2). * Dental Implant sales increased by 15% to total SEK 416.4 million (360.9). * Sales within Procera® increased by 28% totalling SEK 61.7 million (48.3). * Operating income were charged with SEK 9.8 million following the redemption of all the outstanding synthetic options relating to the program from 1994, which expired on 31 March 2000. * Operating income amounted to SEK 55.1 million (52.5) after adjustments for one-off expenses associated with the synthetic options. Reported operating income was SEK 45.3 million (52.5). Currency effects were negative, SEK -9.2 million. * Earnings per share amounted to SEK 1.20 (1.34). Excluding the effects of synthetic options, earnings per share increased by SEK 0.29. * Nobel Biocare has signed an exclusive global distribution agreement for dental regeneration membrane products with W.L. Gore & Associates, USA. Dental Implant sales increased by 15% compared to the first quarter 1999. The newly launched Brånemark System® Mk III and Replace Select , are experiencing good sales growth and already accounts for more than one third of total fixture sales. Sales in Procera® reached SEK 61.7 million, an increase of 28% compared with the first quarter of 1999.
