New contract – Nobina receives renewed agreement with Region Stockholm

Through a new contract, Nobina receives renewed commitment from Region Stockholm to operate and develop traffic in Haninge and Nynäshamn. The contract also represents a major step towards SL's goal of net zero emissions, with the majority of the buses set to be electric.

The traffic consists of almost fifty routes that enable travelers to commute between home and important transport nodes in southern and central Stockholm, every day. The new agreement has a clear focus on sustainability where all traffic continues to be fossil-free while about 135 new electric buses start operating Haninge and Nynäshamn.

“We are proud of the continued confidence to operate and develop traffic at Södertörn and, together with SL, continue the transition from fossil-free to emission-free. We now look forward to developing both the traffic and the collaboration, and meeting our passengers with a reliable, safe, accessible and sustainable public transport service," says Martin Pagrotsky, Managing Director Nobina Sweden.

The contract extends over ten years, from traffic start in June 2025 to 2035 and consists of a total of approximately 150 scheduled buses.

The award decision can be appealed until April 29, 2024.
