Movia has chosen to renew two new contracts with Nobina, one of which also involves an expansion of the current collaboration. The two contracts comprise a total of 24 scheduled electric buses and are estimated to have a combined value of about DKK 570 million over the contract period. One of the contracts has a ten-year contract period with two optional extension years while the contract period of the second contract will be decided later this year. Traffic start-ups for both contracts are in December 2022.

Nobina has an established collaboration with Movia and currently operates a large share of services in North Zealand. The first contract, which includes services in Lyngby, Rudersdal and Gentofte, entails a continuation of a current collaboration while the second contract, including services in Furesø and Hillerød, entails a renewed and expanded contract now also encompassing city transport in the region. In total, the two contracts comprise 24 new electric buses, which benefit both passengers and society in the form of quiet vehicles and better air quality.

“We are proud that Movia has decided to both renew and expand our collaboration. This will allow us to continue to operate public transport that focuses on passengers, at the same time as we lead and contribute to sustainable development,” says Bram Lauwers, Business Area Director Denmark.

The award decision can be appealed until 20 September 2021.
