Under a new agreement commencing on 3 June 2024, Nobina has been awarded a contract by Oulu Regional Transport to operate and develop city transport in Oulu, Finland. The contract extends for eight years with an optional extension period of two years.

The new contract entails that Nobina will continue to expand its operations in Finland, which currently comprise services in Helsinki and Turku. In total, the new contract will encompass 34 scheduled electric buses, an investment in sustainability that will lead to reduced emissions and a quieter traffic environment.

“I am very pleased that Oulu Regional Transport has entrusted Nobina to operate city transport services in Oulu. The contract means Nobina is expanding into new areas where we can contribute our strong expertise in electric buses. We look forward to working together with Oulu Regional Transport to offer travellers sustainable and safe journeys,” says Petri Auno, Managing Director Nobina Finland.

The award decision can be appealed until 30 August 2023.
