Nobina secures multiple new contracts for rail replacement services in Helsinki
Through six new agreements with HSL, Nobina has been awarded the responsibility to operate the majority of rail replacement services for commuter traffic between Espoo and Helsinki. The first contract will begin in spring 2025, followed by three additional contracts starting in the summer, and two more in the fall of the same year. Each contract runs for one month while track maintenance is underway.
Nobina is an established provider of both planned and unplanned rail replacement services across the Nordics. With own resources and a vast network of subcontractors covering a wide geographical area, Nobina ensures that journeys continue even during service disruptions. Nobina’s real-time platform for rail replacement services delivers relevant and up-to-date information to passengers, ensuring a safe and smooth travel experience.
“We are very pleased that HSL has entrusted us with operating rail replacement services for several key routes between Helsinki and surrounding areas. This contract strengthens our position in the rail replacement sector and is an important step toward continuing to develop fast and sustainable solutions that prioritize our passengers’ needs,” says Topi Simola, Managing Director of Nobina Finland.
The award decision can be appealed until December 19, 2024.
