Starting in June 2020, 40 new buses will begin operating in Bollebygd and Kinna and in December 2020, an additional 30 new buses will begin operating in the area, when Nobina will be entrusted to operate and develop public transport together with Västtrafik. The arrangement includes a total of two contracts with a combined value of approximately SEK 1,4 billion spanning 10,5 years.

As part of Västtrafik’s sustainability agenda, all of the 70 vehicles will run on renewable fuel. Moreover, the vehicles will be fitted with Wi-Fi, digital information screens and USB sockets, in order to provide passengers with flexible travel.

“For Nobina, it is of course very gratifying to continue developing the positive collaboration we have with Västtrafik, which has resulted in an increasing number – and more satisfied – passengers on public transport,” says Henrik Dagnäs, CEO of Nobina Sweden.

The award decision can be appealed until 18 March 2019.
