Kasthall, renowned maker of design rugs, has appointed Mirkku Kullberg as interim CEO. She has extensive experience from the international design market, recently as CEO of Glasshouse Helsinki, long time CEO for Artek, Head of the Home Segment for Vitra International, and as a Director of Poltrona Frau Americas.

The international market for rugs is expanding and with a growing interest in genuine materials and true craftsmanship, Kasthall is well positioned for future opportunities. Since the acquisition of Kasthall in August 2023, Network of Design (NOD) has worked closely with the company to chart the way for the future.

With its unique 135-year heritage of craftsmanship and design collaborations with exceptional designers, Kasthall is the unique embodiment of mastery handed down through generations in the rolling landscapes of Kinna, Sweden, coupled with a discerning eye for international interior design excellence.

Mirkku Kullberg has served on the Kasthall board since 2023 and will in her new operational role join forces with Christian Skovhus, Vice President Global Sales, and the rest of the team at Kasthall to implement initiatives and programs that will fuel further growth.

“Kasthall is truly an amazing company, with great legacy to be carried further to a new era. It has great potential for international markets with its core values. Rugs are interesting again from the design perspective and materials matter. We can move forward and combine Kasthall´s extensive archives with new design collaborations” says Mirkku Kullberg, newly appointed interim CEO at Kasthall.

Mirkku will replace previous Kasthall CEO Johan Bergh who has served six years with the company and led Kasthall during the transition from previous ownership to now be a part of NOD.

“We are thrilled to have Mirkku Kullberg take up the reins as interim CEO of Kasthall and help to steer this amazing company towards even stronger growth. She is a visionary leader and cross-disciplinary thinker who brings immense energy and know-how from her past and present experiences of growing international design companies. With Mirkku being a true thought leader in design and modern living we look forward to a new era for the company. We also want to thank Johan Bergh for his dedication and service to Kasthall, having steered the company for the past six years”, says Therese Hillman, CEO of NOD.

Kasthall has a global presence, and showrooms in Stockholm, Malmö, New York and Milan. The team working at Kasthall to design and produce the very finest rugs, continuously team up with world-leading designers to create unique pieces of craft. The latest collaboration with Cecilie Manz has proven to be yet another successful project, with the co-created rugs finding their way into showrooms and homes around the world (https://www.kasthall.com/ceciliemanz).
