New Nokian Rotiiva HT– Power and comfort for versatile driving for SUVs and Light Trucks
New Nokian Rotiiva HT– Power and comfort for versatile driving for SUVs and Light Trucks
The new Nokian Rotiiva HT premium all-season tire designed for SUVs and light trucks can reliably withstand the stress caused by different roads. This special tire provides exceptionally comfortable handling, and it firmly grips asphalt and gravel roads alike. The rubber compound can resist wear and cuts very well and ensures excellent durability. The Nokian Rotiiva HT offers comprehensive performance (all year long) and complements the world’s northernmost tire manufacturer’s entirely new range of SUV and 4WD products designed for versatile use.
The Nokian Rotiiva HT remains stable under all conditions and offers an extensive size selection of 22 tires from 16 inches up to 20 inches. This versatile performer is especially designed for demanding use on heavy SUV-type 4WD vehicles and pickups. The special product also offers light truck sizes designed for hard use. The Rotiiva HT will be available spring 2015.
Controlled safety in any weather
Several innovations that have been tested under authentic conditions enhance the tire’s safety, performance and comfort.
The new High Modulus Tread compound works to deliver a smooth and sporty ride. The new, modern silica compound included in the High Modulus Tread Compound uses the expanding molecular structure of the silica and rubber compound to strengthen the stiffness of the tread pattern and boost the tire’s handling properties, delivering confidence in cornering that feels similar to an ultra-high performance tire. The silica in the High Modulus Tread compound works ideally along a wide temperature range, improving wet grip from spring to autumn.
The aggressive tread pattern and the staggered Lateral Grooves on the shoulders and center section effectively remove water and slush, maximizing the Nokian Rotiiva HT’s good grip and logical handling in any weather.
The heavy siping of the blocks on the sturdy tread optimizes handling and provides much-needed wet grip for surprising conditions. The strong longitudinal ribs and the Groove Lifts between the tread blocks on the outer shoulder area improve precision and feel, especially when cornering. Both shoulders also have narrow Circumferential Grooves that improve lateral grip and reduce rolling resistance, maximizing fuel-efficient rolling.
More driving comfort and a quieter ride
The Silent Groove Design provides an even quieter ride for the drivers of heavy 4WD vehicles. The hemispherical indentations, reminiscent of a golf ball’s surface, on the walls of the longitudinal ribs help to eliminate the annoying whistling noise created as air passes through the groves of the tire. The design also reduces air resistance and cools the surface of the tire, further improving wear resistance.
The Silent Sidewall Technology used on the Nokian Rotiiva HT’s sidewalls also adds to driving comfort. The tailored special rubber compound between the sidewall and tread actively filters the sound and vibration originating from the road, preventing the passage of unwanted sound waves through the sidewall into the rim and further into the car.
Better durability – tailored structure, rubber compound and Stone Ejectors
The rubber compound of the stylish Nokian Rotiiva HT was tailored for heavy use. It can withstand massive wheel loads and close contact with sharp stones, even on poorly maintained asphalt and gravel roads. In addition to achieving exemplary wear resistance, special attention was paid to improving structural durability. The new cable structure and strong steel belt package in the bead area improve the tire’s wear resistance.
The Stone Ejectors in the tread pattern’s main grooves minimize the penetration of sharp rocks into the tire. The Stone Ejectors further increase the operating life of the tire by preventing tire body damage, especially when driving on uneven surfaces. Other drivers will also be happy, as the number of rock projectiles is reduced.
High performance even for light off-roading
Due to the unique tread pattern and the Off-road Claws, the Nokian Rotiiva HT cleans easily and can effortlessly cross even soft terrain such as mud, slush or loose sand roads. The diagonal and rectangular protrusions on the inner shoulder grab the road surface in a controlled manner, which improves the tire’s traction and braking grip.
The Driving Safety Indicator (DSI), patented by Nokian Tyres, improves safety and comfort. The numbers on the tread surface allow users to easily check the remaining tread percentage.
Main innovations:
Lateral Grooves. Excellent grip and handling. The staggered Lateral Grooves on the shoulders and center section effectively remove water and slush, maximizing the Nokian Rotiiva HT’s good grip and logical handling in any weather.
Groove Lifts. Better steering feel. The Groove Lifts that are shaped between the tread blocks on the outer shoulder area improve precision and feel, especially when cornering.
Circumferential Grooves. Better grip, lighter rolling. Both shoulders also have narrow Circumferential Grooves that improve lateral grip and reduce rolling resistance, maximizing fuel-efficient rolling.
Stone Ejectors. More safety, better durability. The Stone Ejectors on the bottoms of grooves minimize the penetration of sharp stones into the tire. The Stone Ejectors further increase the operating life of the tire by preventing tire body damage, especially when driving on uneven surfaces.
Silent Sidewall Technology. For a silent and comfortable ride. The tailored special rubber compound between the sidewall and tread actively filters the sound and vibration originating from the road, preventing the passage of unwanted sound waves through the sidewall into the rim and further into the car.
Silent Groove Design. More driving comfort and durability. The hemispherical indentations, reminiscent of a golf ball pattern, on the walls of the transverse ribs provide additional driving comfort. The innovation helps eliminate the annoying whistling noise created by the air passing through the grooves of the tire. The design also reduces air resistance and cools the surface of the tire, in turn improving wear resistance.
Driving Safety Indicator. (DSI) More safety. The numbers on the tread surface allow users to easily check the remaining tread percentage.
