Nokian Tyres ranked the 100th most sustainable company in the world by TIME Magazine
Nokian Tyres plc Press Release June 24, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. EEST
Nokian Tyres has been included in TIME Magazine’s list of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026. The list includes 750 companies with outstanding sustainability performance. Nokian Tyres was ranked 100th. The annual ranking by TIME, compiled in collaboration with research firm Statista, evaluates thousands of companies worldwide.
“This is a great acknowledgment of our long-term sustainability work and motivates us to keep improving. We want to enable drivers to make more sustainable tire choices without compromising on performance. Renewable and recycled materials and lower rolling resistance help cut tire lifecycle emissions, while rigorously tested tires improve grip and safety, especially in demanding weather conditions,” says Paolo Pompei, President and CEO at Nokian Tyres.
The ranking criteria include verified sustainability commitments, such as UN Global Compact membership and greenhouse gas emission reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. Performance in ratings by respected organizations, such as CDP and MSCI, was taken into account, and companies were assessed also for sustainable business practice, transparency, and environmental and social stewardship.
“Proactive sustainability measures also benefit our customers: responsible sourcing reduces risks, and innovative, high-performing tires with lower environmental footprint make it possible for our customers to offer higher-value solutions to their own clients”, Pompei says.
