Charities benefit thanks to Wirral law firm
Two of Britain’s best loved charities are better off thanks to the fundraising efforts of a Wirral law firm.
Staff at New Brighton based QualitySolicitors David Roberts & Co took part in the Barnardo’s distance challenge raising £890.00 of the amazing £6,145.53 total raised.
The unique initiative, which was publicly backed by Double Olympic Gold Medalist Daley Thompson, saw employees across the QualitySolicitors (QS) network and Barnardo’s unite in an attempt to cover 2,300 miles - the distance between all QS firms in the UK, to raise money for the children’s charity. Staff at David Roberts & Co covered 385.4 miles by cycling, walking, running and rowing.
David Roberts, Director of QualitySolicitors David Roberts & Co comments; “I’m really proud of everyone for getting behind this fantastic fundraising event. Together QualitySolicitors and Barnardo’s have exceeded expectations, smashed their targets and most importantly helped raise funds and awareness of this great cause, showing just what can be done when you work as a team.”
Another worthwhile local charity benefitted when QualitySolicitors David Roberts & Co employee, Clare Oliver, took part in the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) H2only challenge where she drank nothing but water for two weeks and raised £103.73
Clare was inspired to help after a friend was saved by the RNLI many years ago.
“I decided to take on the H20nly challenge as I think RNLI volunteers are the bravest heroes,” she said.
“I have a friend whose life was saved by RNLI volunteers when he was a child and that’s why it means so much to me.”
QualitySolicitors David Roberts & Co is committed to supporting local charities. Their next fundraising event takes place on the 25thJuly at West Kirby Marine Lake when their team will be competing in the Dragon Boat Races on behalf of Headway Brain Injury charity.
