New executive management for Tryg-Baltica Liv og Pension Effective from today Tryg-Baltica Liv og Pension will have a new executive management and is changing its name to Tryg-Baltica Pension. The new management of Tryg-Baltica Pension will comprise Michael Brag, formerly executive vice president and director of sales, who has now been appointed CEO, and Jens Lind, formerly first vice president and appointed actuary, who has been appointed mathematical director. Together, they constitute the executive management of Tryg-Baltica Pension, and both members will report to Ib Mardahl-Hansen, head of Nordea Life Insurance and Pensions, who in turn reports to Thorleif Krarup, Group CEO. The change of management derives from Nordea's division into six business areas, under which the business area Life Insurance and Pensions comprises pension providers in seven countries. In addition to being head of Life Insurance and Pensions, Ib Mardahl-Hansen has hitherto also been responsible for the Danish operations in life insurance, unit-linked products and pensions. In the long term it would not be expedient for one and the same person to hold overall responsibility for the business area while serving as member of the executive management of one of the companies comprised by that business area. Therefore, Ib Mardahl-Hansen has now decided to leave Tryg-Baltica Pension's executive management, and he will remain in charge of Danish securities and property investments. In connection with the new appointments in Tryg-Baltica Pension, Evy Sørensen, formerly senior vice president and chief administrative officer, has been appointed executive vice president. After the presentation of the 2001 annual accounts, a generation shift in the actuarial department of Tryg-Baltica Pension will be effected in February 2002. Niels Peter Rasmussen, senior vice president, will take one step backwards in the organisation after many years as head of the actuarial department. The new head of department will be Christian Kofoed, MSc (actuarial science) and first vice president, who will subsequently be appointed senior vice president. As announced earlier, Nordea's legal company structure will be adjusted to the business area structure of the Group. This is expected to occur during 2002. In line with the life insurance companies in the other countries, Tryg-Baltica Pension will then constitute a legal entity under Nordea Life Insurance and Pensions in addition to being a business unit.
