"The Board has decided to make a special contribution of 10 million Swedish Kronor to finance the professorship in honour of Hans Dalborg's career as a banker and achievements in the creation of Nordea," said Vesa Vainio, Chairman of the Board, as he made the announcement at Nordea's Annual General Meeting on Tuesday. "We can't think of a better way to thank Hans than to promote research to improve the conditions for integration and growth of our Nordic home market - a development to which Hans Dalborg most certainly will continue to contribute to in his new role." The Institute of Financial Research is private and independent formed to promote research, education and debate within the financial sector both in Sweden and internationally. The intention is that guest professors be appointed among Nordic or international researchers of international prominence within the field of applied financial economics.
