Major shareholder announcement

Pursuant to section 29, subsection 1 of the Danish Securities Trading Act,
NORDEN hereby announces that the Company has been informed that Kristiansands
Tankrederi AS, which holds 4,869,640 shares in Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S
corresponding to approximately 10.9% of the total nominal share capital of
NORDEN, has merged with POLYSHIPPING AS, which - like Kristiansands Tankrederi
AS - is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rasmussengruppen AS. 

The merger takes place with POLYSHIPPING AS as the surviving company, and the
shareholding in Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S will hereafter lie with this
company.
