Bank Komunalny, member of MeritaNordbanken Group opens a branch in Warsaw MeritaNordbanken strengthens its position in Poland. Bank Komunalny, in which MNB owns 49.9 percent, opens a new branch in Warsaw aiming at serv- ing the Nordic corporate customers as well as private customers in Poland. The new Warsaw branch was opened today. Present at the opening were among others the Chairman of the Board for Nordic Baltic Holding, Mr Vesa Vainio. - The Nordic Baltic Holding Group considers the whole of the Baltic rim as its home market. We want to grow in the region and see it in our vital in- terest to contribute to the growth and prosperity in every country we are located. Also in Poland we aim to grow, Mr Vainio says. - Bank Komunalny has now entered Warsaw, but we are already looking beyond the capital to other main cites. - We want to improve our support to Nordic-related business and expand our services to Polish customers, both corporate and private. MeritaNordbanken has already received a permission from the Polish Banking Supervisory authorities to increase its owning in Bank Komunalny to 75 percent. Nordic Baltic Holding has also through Unidanmark and BWP-Unibank a presence in Warsaw. - Side by side with Polish colleagues we are developing new products and services of high international standards which include advanced Internet banking facilities, Mr Vainio adds.
