MeritaNordbanken Group sold all the remaining shares in Suomen Spar Oyj Based on the original deal concluded between MeritaNordbanken Group and Swedish Axel Johnson AB, MeritaNordbanken has sold the remaining shares in Suomen Spar Oyj to a new Swedish company Hemköpskedjan AB (publ), which has been formed pending to a merger between two Swedish retail chains, Hemköp and D & D Dagligvaror. After the deal concluded in spring 1999 with Axel Johnson AB, Mantica Oy, which is part of MeritaNordbanken Group, still held 41 797 A shares and 243 532 K shares in Suomen Spar Oyj. This holding represents 41.3 % of all votes and 25.1 % of all shares in the company. Customary authorisations and permissions are required for finalising the deal. The parties have agreed that the final purchase price not be published. The deal has no significant impact on the profits of MeritaNordbanken Group.
