The management of Merita General Insurance has been appointed
The management of Merita General Insurance has been appointed Tryg-Baltica, part of Nordea Group, will establish a branch in Finland through Merita General Insurance. Management of Tryg-Baltica's branch operating under the name of Merita General Insurance has been appointed and consists of a General Manager and an Assistant General Manager. They will both begin on 1 January 2001. The first Finnish insurances will be sold in the spring of 2001 through the Internet via Merita's e-business solution Solo. Later in the year Merita Bank's branches will also sell insurances. Kimmo Kilpinen has been appointed General Manager and Bo Uggerhøj has been appointed Assistant General Manager. Kimmo Kilpinen will report to the Tryg-Baltica management and Bo Uggerhøj will report to Kimmo Kilpinen in Finland. Martin Bøge Mikkelsen, Senior Vice President from Tryg-Baltica, is project responsible for the development of Nordea bankassurance concept in Finland based on Tryg-Baltica's very positive experiences in the competitive Danish environment. Kimmo Kilpinen, 44, comes from a position as First Vice President in the Pohjola Group. The past 1½ years he has been responsible for the Southern Region of Pohjola. Kimmo Kilpinen has previously also worked in Merita Bank. Bo Uggerhøj, 44, has worked with Tryg-Baltica since 1997 and latest as Regional Manager, Commercial for Northern Jutland. Among his earlier positions he has been employed by Danica as Regional Director for Eastern Denmark. At first Bo Uggerhøj will be stationed in Finland for one year.
