Nordic Capital divests Reynolds to Klöckner Distribution Industrielle

Press release June 17, 2005 Nordic Capital has entered into a definitive agreement to sell Reynolds European SAs and its subsidiaries to Klöckner Distribution Industrielle S.A., Paris. Reynolds is a nationwide trader and distributor of non-ferrous metal products and is one of the leading independent suppliers in France. The operations include a mix of trading, agency business and distribution.

Reynolds has revenues of EUR 108 million (2004) and 150 employees. The company is headquartered in Paris, France. Nordic Capital acquired the Reynolds Group from Trelleborg in December 1999 as part of the Trenor deal when Nordic Capital acquired a majority stake in Trelleborg’s wholesale and distribution businesses. Nordic Capital has participated in the restructuring and refocusing of energies in Reynolds to adjust to new market conditions. The profitability in the company has improved as an outcome of this work and has created a good base from which the company can continue to develop in the future under the new ownership. The parties have agreed to not disclose the transaction value. Closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of competition authorities.
