  • NENT Group to premiere at least 40 original productions in 2021

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), the Nordic region’s leading streaming company, has commissioned a further two seasons of its hugely popular Viaplay Original series ‘Hammarvik’. Created by bestselling Swedish author Camilla Läckberg, the new seasons of ‘Hammarvik’ will continue to offer viewers a compelling blend of Nordic crime drama and soap opera, and will premiere exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service.

The queen of Nordic crime fiction with over 28 million books sold worldwide, Camilla Läckberg’s ‘Hammarvik’ (Swedish title: ‘Lyckoviken’) smashed viewing records for a Viaplay Original when the first two seasons premiered in 2020 and 2021.

Disa Östrand (‘Love & Anarchy’), Martin Stenmarck and Linda Santiago (‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’) will reprise their roles in the third and fourth seasons, in which the secrets and desires of the inhabitants of the small Swedish town Hammarvik will be more explosive than ever.

Camilla Läckberg: “The response to ‘Hammarvik’ has been like nothing I’ve ever experienced. I get asked for a new season almost every day, which is why I’m so excited to reveal that both a third and a fourth season are on the way. Since I’m involved, there will of course be a crime to solve, and no let up in the intrigues among the people in Hammarvik.”

Filippa Wallestam, NENT Group Chief Content Officer: “Reviving the Nordic soap opera with a noir twist came at just the right moment for Viaplay viewers. With its multiple engrossing plotlines, familiar characters and a devious mystery to unravel, ‘Hammarvik’ has been hugely successful during these challenging times, and has also brought new audiences to streaming for the first time. Together with Camilla, we will make the coming two seasons even more unmissable.”

Camilla Läckberg’s first-ever feature film, the dystopian drama ‘Glacier’, premiered on Viaplay in April. Läckberg will also appear in NENT Group’s upcoming Swedish reality show ‘Swedish Power Women’ later this year.

‘Hammarvik’ seasons three and four are written by Camilla Läckberg, Lovisa Löwhagen and Jessika Jankert, and are produced by Mastiff in partnership with Creative Society Productions. Filming is set to start this summer in Vänersborg in western Sweden.
