NIB lends to rebuild Ellevio’s electric substations in Stockholm

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) signs a 10-year loan with the Swedish electricity distributor Ellevio AB to rebuild and increase the capacity of two existing switchgear stations in Skanstull and Värtan in the City of Stockholm, Sweden.The SEK 1 billion (EUR 94.10 million) loan is earmarked for financing new station buildings, indoor GIS switchgears for 110kV and 220kV, new transformers and reactors, new cables, and a new control and protection system. Combined, the total expected distribution capacity from the two switchgear stations will increase by around 800 MW, which represents a 40%

NIB loan for 146 MW onshore wind farm in northern Sweden

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Swedish Klev Wind AB, a special purpose vehicle owned by Renewable Power Capital (RPC) and backed by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), have agreed on a five-year EUR 44 million loan. The loan will enable RPC to acquire the Klevberget wind farm, support the construction and operation of the 146 MW onshore wind project near Sundsvall, northern Sweden.The Klevberget wind farm consists of 24 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.1 MW. Construction of the wind farm began in February 2022 and the wind farm is planned to commence operations

NIB opens water infrastructure credit line with the Municipality of Kristianstad, Sweden

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and the Municipality of Kristianstad have signed a new loan programme for financing wastewater and water investments.The credit facility totals SEK 500 million (EUR 52 million) and will be used to expand the central wastewater treatment plant and network, as well as constructing and upgrading freshwater plants during 2017–2021. The credit facility has a 21-year maturity. The expansion of the central wastewater treatment plant will increase the capacity by 27%, to 260,000 person equivalents. NIB launches SME loan facility with Sparbanken Skåne

The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) and Sweden’s Sparbanken Skåne have agreed on a loan programme totalling SEK 500 million (EUR 52 million) for on-lending to SMEs, small mid-caps, and environmental projects. The seven-year facility will finance SME and small mid-cap investments in a broad range of sectors, including farming, manufacturing, trade, construction and corporate services as well as being available for projects with environmental benefits.
