Nordic Iron Ores application for exploration permit for Ludvikafältet # 1, an area that links the company's mining concessions for Håksberg, Väsman and Blötberget, has been granted by the Swedish Mining Inspectorate. The decision is an important part of Nordic Iron Ores' preparatory work for resuming iron ore production in Ludvika Mines.

On May 6, 2019, the Swedish Mining Inspectorate ("Bergsstaten") granted Nordic Iron Ore’s application for an exploration permit for “Ludvika field no. 1” in Ludvika municipality. According to the Mining Act, the exploration permit entails the exclusive right to investigate the granted area and is valid for three years. The survey area covers an area of 913.65 hectares and links Nordic Iron Ores' mining concessions for Blötberget and Håksberg, for which the company has all the necessary permits to commence mining operations, and the intermediate concession area for the South Väsman field.

Nordic Iron Ore's ambition is to develop the Väsman field and Håksbergs mine into an integrated mining area and to link this with the facilities planned to be built for the mine in Blötberget.
