Nordic Iron Ore strengthens its organization further
Nordic Iron Ore AB is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Paul Marsden to the position of Technical Sales & Marketing Director, effective from November 15, 2011.
Mr. Marsden will assume responsibility for marketing Nordic Iron Ore’s ore products but will also bring valuable expertise to the company in metallurgical engineering, mineral processing and pelletizing aspects.
Mr. Marsden has spent the last 5 years with Northland Resources SA at various management positions, most recent as VP Business Development. Before joining Northland Resources Mr. Marsden spent 29 years as a consultant to the international mining, iron and steel industries, including nearly 27 years with Corus Consulting (formerly British Steel Consultants Ltd), an arm of Corus Steel. Mr. Marsden's final position with Corus Consulting was as Project Director and included responsibility for Global Iron Ore Marketing evaluation, which amongst others included iron ore marketing and feasibility studies.
He is a specialist with expertise in iron ore beneficiation, pelletizing, iron making and alternative iron making technology. He has also worked on numerous green field iron ore / pelletizing / DRI / steelmaking feasibility study developments worldwide. He is also an expert market analyst of the iron ore and the steel industries, including experience in the marketing of metallurgical technologies to mining and steel companies. He has first-hand knowledge of all aspects of iron ore production in most parts of the world including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, India, Iran, Saudi Arabia, USA and Zimbabwe.
Mr. Marsden is a “Qualified Person” (QP) in metallurgical process under Canadian NI 43-101 and Australian JORC standards. Mr. Marsden has a Bachelor of Science (BSc), Geological Sciences from Aston University, Birmingham, UK, is a Chartered Engineer (C Eng), a Chartered Scientist (CSci), and a Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IMMM or IOM3).
