Lime, TIER and VOI launch Nordic Micromobility Association
The Nordics has been leading the micromobility movement. Shared e-scooters have been at the heart of this and Stockholm was the first city in the Nordics to host e-scooters in August 2018. One year on, e-scooters are changing the way people move in cities and becoming an integral part of city life.
Millions of people across the Nordics now regularly use e-scooters to travel aroundtheir city.
The benefits of e-scooters will only be delivered, however, if scooter companiescontinue to provide high quality services - operating responsibly in transparentpartnership with cities.
To deliver on this goal, Lime, TIER and VOI are today announcing the formation of a Nordic Micromobility Association. The association will operate in all Nordic countriesand promote the highest standards of safety, responsibility and sustainability for the industry, encouraging competition between operators and strengthening relationships between cities and micromobility businesses.
The association is non-profit and open to all responsible electric scooter and micromobility providers. Its goal is to increase dialogue and cooperation with cities ensuring sustainable, long term and high quality scooter services for consumers.
This common framework will allow Nordic countries to continue benefiting from the latest innovations in responsible micromobility allowing cities to reduce emissions, become better connected, and improve transport efficiency.
