Nordic Mining has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the international consultancy and project management group Arcadis Nederland BV (“Arcadis”). The objective is to investigate use of eclogite and anorthosite minerals as stone meal for soil conditioning in agriculture.

Nordic Mining has an eclogite resource at Engebøfjellet in Norway and is in the process of developing the resource for production of rutile and garnet. Substantial quantities of eclogite rock will become available from the project. Nordic Mining is also operating an anorthosite mine in Gudvangen in Norway and has various anorthosite products available.

Arcadis is currently working on projects for soil conditioning in the Netherlands. The goal of the projects is to promote stone meal fertilization as a sound tool for soil conditioning and restoration of soil mineralogy. Nordic Mining has supplied minerals for testing purposes to the first pilot project.

Nordic Mining and Arcadis both see an interesting international market potential for stone meal in agricultural applications, and they will jointly explore this potential in cooperation with other commercial partners.
