County governor in favor of industrial area plan for Engebø

The county governor of Sogn and Fjordane has in a letter dated 23 June 2011 to the Norwegian Ministry of the Environment recommended approval of the industrial area plan for rutile production at Engebø. The industrial area plan covers the area relevant for Nordic Mining's contemplated industrial development at Engebø.

The county governor notes that Sogn and Fjordane County represented by the County Council and the two municipalities Naustdal and Askvoll are supporting the plans for rutile production at Engebø. The county governor gives support to the municipalities' considerations with regard to environmental monitoring program in order to assess environmental risks and consequences in connection with industrial operation at Engebø.
