Drilling of the Kvinnherad Quartz deposit
Nordic Mining’s subsidiary Nordic Quartz AS has entered into a contract with Geo Drilling AS in order to carry out drilling of its High Purity Quartz (“HPQ”) deposit in Kvinnherad municipality in western Norway.
Drilling will commence early September and last for approximately 5 weeks. The plan is to drill 6 holes in the deposit. The drill cores will be subject to various analyses to determine the quartz quality. The data will be used to make more accurate models for the deposit, and a JORC compliant resource estimate will be made by an external qualified geologist.
Exploration Manager Mona Schanche comments: “The drilling campaign is an important step for the further development of the quartz project. The drilling will give us increased confidence in the quality and size of deposit.”
The quartz deposit is an outcropping hydrothermal vein with an average wideness of about 15 meters and a length of approximately 600 meters. Nordic Quartz has carried out extensive analysis and processing tests, documenting that quartz products similar to the purest qualities on the market can be made. Dorfner Anzaplan has made a scoping study for an industrial HPQ project. The scoping study shows a potential for a viable and profitable industrial project based on preliminary project assumptions.
Nordic Mining entertains contacts with international companies with commercial interests in the quartz value chain.
