EM survey in Finland

In cooperation with EMTEK AS (www.emtek.as) Nordic Mining has executed EM surveying (ElectroMagnetic) on the company's lithium bearing pegmatite deposits in Finland. Nordic Mining's mineral rights in Finland are owned by Keliber Oy, a subsidiary in Nordic Mining group. The deposits constitute the resource base for the company's planned production of lithium carbonate in Finland.

Purpose of the surveying was to evaluate detection and size as well as possible new deposits within Nordic Mining's licence areas. In addition, verification of EMTEK's technologies and methods in commersial projects were objectives in the project. The surveying has been financed with grants from Innovasjon Norge and was executed by EMTEK's Norwegian and Russian experts in EM prospecting tecnologies. Geologists from Norway and Finland have followed the field work.

The project has verified that EM technologies and methods are well-suited for survey of lithium bearing pegmatite deposits. Good contrasts have been demonstrated between pegmatite and surrounding rocks.

Results from the surveys are well in line with results from previous comprehensive drilling programs, and depth, sizes and locations are largly congruent with information from actual drillings. Further, the surveys indicate additional ore resources in an area which has not been included in previous drilling programs.

The plan is to use EM surveying in ajacent areas where reconnaissance drilling has indicated significant lithium bearing mineral resources. Provided EM methods are finally verfied, future exploration cost can be significantly reduced as expensive dry drill holes to a large extent can be reduced.

Nordic Mining will use data from the surveys for evaluation with interpretation methods comprised in the company's technology agreement with Rocksource ASA regarding EM technology.

"Mineral exploration with EM technology will be important in the future", comments CEO Ivar S. Fossum. "EM methods have important advantages environmentally and cost-wise and these aspects are expected to be increasingly important onwards. Nordic Mining will be positioned to participate in this development."

EMTEK's COO, Atle Fyhn, points out that the surveys to a large extent confirm that EMTEK's technology and methods are equally suited for mineral projects as for oil and gas exploration which is another focus area in EMTEK. Fyhn also comments that cooperation with a forward looking company like Nordic Mining is exiting and that EMTEK looks forward to further cooperation.
