Increased resource estimates for Keliber

Report this content

Keliber has reported an increased indicated mineral resource estimate for its Rapasaari deposit and increased lithium grade for its Syväjärvi deposit. In total, the estimates for Keliber’s indicated mineral resources have increased with around 20%.

In the winter season 2014/2015, Keliber (www.keliber.fi) drilled approximately 2,700 meters in the Rapasaari lithium deposit. The Competent Persons’ revised estimate for Rapasaari in accordance with the JORC Code 2012 (cut-off grade of 0.5% Li2O; specific gravidity of 2.70) has been increased from 922,000 tonnes to 1,960,000 tonnes at a grade of 1.25% Li2O.

Further, the results from re-analysis of drill cores from the Syväjärvi deposit have confirmed an increase of the lithium grade from 1.22% to 1.34% Li2O. The indicated mineral resource at Syväjärvi, previously estimated to 1,664,000 tonnes, was marginally increased to 1,668,000 tonnes in accordance with the JORC Code 2012, and based on the same cut-off grade and gravidity factor as mentioned above.

The Rapasaari and Syväjärvi deposits can both be mined as conventional open pits.

The Competent Persons responsible for the mineral estimations are Markku Meriläinen (MAusIMM) and Pekka Lovén (MAusIMM).

In total, Keliber’s estimated mineral resources in the measured and indicated categories now exceed 6.2 million tonnes (JORC Code 2004 and 2012 combined) at an average grade of 1.26% Li2O.

Nordic Mining holds approximately 25% of the shares in Keliber.
