Nordic Mining has presented final proposal for planning program related to production of rutile (TiO2) at Engebøfjellet. As part of the process related to the program Nordic Mining together with Naustdal municipality have arranged a scoping seminar with participation from various institutions and organisations. The planning program has been submitted to Naustdal and Askvoll municipalities. The planned assessments described in the program are scheduled for the emaining part of 2007 and 2008, with final public inspection and approval in the first part of 2009.

 

Studies have been initiated related to disposal of tailings in the Førdefjord. NIVA (Norwegian institute for water research) has been contracted for assessment of seabed fauna and flow patterns in the fjord.

 

The recent activities are according to the time schedule for the Engebø project.
