Nordic Mining’s associated company Keliber Oy has contracted Outotec (Finland) Oy to carry out a test program to further improve the developed lithium carbonate process. The test program which is scheduled for completion in Q2 2015 will provide input for Keliber’s pre-feasibility study scheduled for Q3 2015.

Outotec (Finland) Oy has previously carried out research work related to Keliber’s lithium carbonate production process and has proven the production concept technically efficient and valid.

Outotec has now commenced a test program to further improve the lithium carbonate process. Spodumene concentrate from Keliber’s Länttä deposit will be used as test material for the program. The concentrate has been prepared at GTK’s laboratories.

The test program will include all the process stages from calcining to crystallization of the lithium carbonate product. The aim of the program is to further define the process parameters as well as to design the right equipment configuration and parameters to each process stage. The lithium carbonate produced in the test program is aimed to be battery grade and will serve as product samples for Keliber’s pre-marketing efforts.

The test program is scheduled for completion in Q2 2015. Outotec will also provide input to a pre-feasibility study scheduled for completion in Q3 2015.

Nordic Mining owns approximately 25% of the share capital in Keliber.
