Nordic Paper celebrates the first European Paper Bag Day
It’s all about paper bags on 18 October 2018: on the occasion of the first European Paper Bag Day, Nordic Paper will be celebrating paper bags as the sustainable and efficient packaging of the future. The annual action day was initiated by “The Paper Bag” platform, a collaboration between Europe’s leading kraft paper manufacturers and paper bag producers, of which Nordic Paper is a member. The objective of the event is to highlight the advantages of paper bags and invite consumers to connect their personal packaging choices with a sustainable choice for the environment.
To celebrate this day, Nordic Paper has printed our own paper bags on kraft paper. Recently we introduced a new brand name, iamKraft and that´s something we want to highlight. Locally in Sweden, we therefor will be available in places where we produce kraft paper – in Kristinehamn and Åmotfors. The citizens will find us outside two of the main grocery stores where we will be handling out our paperbag and also will inform about our company.
Because we think this day is something to celebrate and to share with others!
Paper bags are very strong, natural packaging. Paper bags produced in Europe are made from renewable raw materials that are gained from sustainably managed European forests. Thanks to their long fibres, paper bags represent an outstanding material for the recycling industry. Moreover, they are biodegradable and decompose within two to five months. The long, strong fibres, coupled with the construction of the bags, make them a very resilient companion for shopping. Paper carrier bags come in a wide range of sizes, colours and handle designs, and can hold up to 12 kg: perfect for fashion, beauty and decorative items or merchandise ranging from food to electronics.
The “The Paper Bag” platform was founded in 2017 by the leading European kraft paper manufacturers and producers of paper bags, among them Nordic Paper. They dedicate themselves to promoting the advantages of paper packaging. “The Paper Bag” is steered by the organisations CEPI Eurokraft and EUROSAC.
