RBS Nordisk Renting is acquiring the Swedish Maritime Administration’s headquarters in Norrköping, eastern central Sweden, from Mattssons Fastighetsutveckling. The Maritime Administration will be the long-term tenant under a 15-year leasing agreement.

The listed building is a profile property in Norrköping and was previously a printing house. Built in 1911, the building was designed by architect Carl Bergsten. Mattssons Fastighetsutveckling completely renovated the old printers’ premises in 2003 and developed them into ultra-modern offices. Today there is space for 330 workers as well as a library, archive and exercise rooms. The building enjoys a strategic location in Norrköping city centre, close to the central station, several major through routes and the city’s port. The Port of Norrköping is Sweden’s fastest growing port, and is the largest and most modern in the Baltic region. “We are delighted to sell the property to RBS Nordisk Renting who we think will be a stable new owner with long-term ambitions. We are now continuing to develop properties in the Norrköping region”, says Fredrik Mattsson, CEO Mattssons Fastighetsutveckling AB. The property has a total surface area of approximately 15, 000 square metres. In connection with the acquisition, a long-term facilities management contract has been signed with Coor Service Management. “We are very pleased to acquire this beautiful period building, which has been sensitively refurbished into modern offices. We are also proud to have the Swedish Maritime Administration – an organisation with many decades of strong local ties in Norrköping – as a new long-term tenant,” says Reinhold Geijer, Chief Executive of Nordisk Renting AB. RBS Nordisk Renting will take ownership of the property on 30 June 2006.
