Nordstjernan has exercised a purchase option, thus increasing its holding to 51 percent of the shares in the Swiss company WinGroup. The seller of the shares is the investment company Casebero, which retains a 49-percent stake.

WinGroup manufactures plain and insulated glazing solutions for apartment balconies and single-family homes. WinGroup was formed in 2007 through a merger of the Swedish company Windoor, with the Swiss company Sunparadise. Consequently, WinGroup became one of the Nordic region’s leading suppliers of balcony railings and glazing, as well as one of Switzerland’s leading players in patios and other residential glazing solutions.

In 2011, WinGroup’s sales amounted to SEK 408 million and its operating profit was SEK 62 million. WinGroup conducts operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, the UK, Switzerland, Germany and Turkey. For further information about WinGroup, visit www.wingroup.ch.

“WinGroup offers a wide range of quality products and is highly profitable. The company is active in a sector that we believe will have positive growth moving forward. Our aim is for the company to grow both organically and through supplementary acquisitions,” says Tomas Billing, CEO of Nordstjernan.

The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transaction.
