Tekniksprånget
Nordstjernan, Industrivärden and JKL have jointly initiated and financed the launch of Tekniksprånget.
Tekniksprånget is a program designed to offer all senior high school students graduating from a Science and Technology Program a four-month work-experience placement with a technology-intensive Swedish company. For more information, visit www.nordstjernan.se/index.php?id=114.
The aim of Tekniksprånget is to encourage more students to pursue an engineering education. By helping students establish early real-world contacts at a technology-intensive company, the program hopes to attract more people to study to become engineers. Tekniksprånget is an initiative to ensure the future supply of expertise within the technologically demanding engineering industry, thereby also bolstering Sweden’s long-term competitiveness. Since technology and science are crucial to the development of trade and industry, the current insufficient supply of engineers constitutes a threat to the competitiveness of industry and thus also the competitiveness of Sweden.
“Nordstjernan is a long-term owner of many Swedish companies and the issue of education is vital for these companies’ success. We want to show more high school students that when they graduate from a Science and Technology Program a number of companies are eager to offer work-experience placements,” says Tomas Billing, President of Nordstjernan.
