The SGEIS very positively states that significant economic benefits can come from natural gas drilling and that any adverse effects can be fully or partially mitigated. The SGEIS also quotes testimony from regulatory officials from 15 states that groundwater contamination as a result of the hydraulic fracturing process itself has not occurred.

“Norse Energy believes that the strong emphasis of the SGEIS on mitigating surface risks is properly placed. The public interest will be well served with the SGEIS guidelines for natural gas development in New York.” according to Mark Dice, Chief Executive Officer.

Norse Energy has total contingent resources of 3.9 TCF (~700 MMBOE) at the end of 2010. The Company has a significant land position of 180,000 net acres in New York State.
