Norse Energy Corp. ASA (“NEC” ticker code OSE – NEC, Oslo, Norway, U.S OTC symbol “NSEEF”) is pleased to announce production volumes for its US and Brazilian subsidiaries in Q2 2009. US operations Natural gas production from the US gas wells (before royalty) is estimated to average 8,014 Mcf/day (1,427 boe/day) in the second quarter. This represents an increase of ~20% over the first quarter production level of 6,693 Mcf/day (1,192 boe/day). This volume is based on daily meter readings at the company’s Central New York compressor stations. Final production numbers, to be reported in the Q2-09 financials, may deviate somewhat from this volume. Reported sales volumes in our financials will be adjusted for 12.5% royalty and fuel retainage, which has been historically averaging ~4%. While production levels in the second quarter continued to improve, drilling operations were impacted by a pause in drilling mainly due to spring thaw conditions, which restricted the use of secondary access roads and a cut-back to one drilling rig during the quarter. Since drilling activity picked back up in the latter half of the second quarter, two wells have been completed. The Dominion delivery meter upgrade was completed on schedule and future upgrades are also anticipated as Norse continues to extend its anticipated 0.5 Tcf (90 MMBOE) Herkimer field. Brazilian operations Natural gas production from the Manati field (10% working interest) averaged 5.0 MMm3/day (3,120 boe/day net to Norse Energy) in the second quarter 2009. This represents a ~15% increase compared to the first quarter 2009. Production has increased towards the end of the quarter and is anticipated to exceed 5.0 MMm3/day (100%) for the remainder of the year. Reported sales volumes in our financials will be adjusted for retainage (usage, line loss and stripping of condensate) which has historically been ~6% below produced volumes.
