FOAA Anesthesia Services Establishes Record with a Seventh Consecutive 5-Star Award In National Customer Service Hospital Survey
Virginia-based INOVA Fair Oaks, INOVA Mount Vernon and INOVA Alexandria Hospital Anesthesia Departments Finish in Top Four Percent
FOAA Anesthesia Services (FOAA), the Mid-Atlantic division of North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), has been recognized with three 5-Star Awards resulting from a nationwide survey of medical staff conducted by Professional Research Consultants, a national leader in healthcare marketing research. The anesthesia department at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital was awarded its record-setting seventh consecutive 5-Star Award while INOVA Mount Vernon Hospital’s anesthesia staff received its sixth consecutive 5-Star Award. In addition, INOVA Alexandria Hospital was recognized with a 5-Star Award for the second year in a row. No other anesthesia group in the country surveyed by PRC has won as many consecutive 5-Star Awards.
The 5-Star Award designation is given annually to hospital anesthesia departments that score in the top ten percent of PRC’s national medical staff perception database for the prior year. The FOAA Anesthesia departments in the three INOVA hospitals finished in the top four percent of all hospital anesthesia groups surveyed. The study specifically measures communication with physicians, level of competence, attention to patients during operative procedures, availability for pre-op assessment and overall excellence. The Top Performer Award is given to the anesthesia department that scores highest overall when compared with 400 hospitals across the country.
