NAPA Anesthesiologist Dr. Sonia Szlyk & ProCare Systems President Dr. Fred Davis to Speak at Becker’s Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven
North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) announced today that noted anesthesiologist Sonia Szlyk, MD will serve as a featured speaker at Becker’s 14th Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC Conference. Fred Davis, MD, president and co-founder of ProCare Systems (a NAPA company) will also be addressing the audience of ASC owners, operators and physicians as a featured panelist. The event will take place June 9-11, 2016 at the Swissotel in Chicago, IL. NAPA will also support the event as an exhibitor at Booth #20.
Dr. Szlyk is scheduled to speak on Thursday, June 9 at 1:15 pm. Her presentation titled, “Delighting Surgeons and Patients: Enhancing the Service Experience and Increasing Case Volume through Advances in Regional Anesthesia” will focus on how innovative regional anesthesia techniques yield strategic advantages for ASCs. Among these benefits include the positive impact that ultrasound-guided nerve blocks have on patient and surgeon satisfaction.

Dr. Davis will be participating in a panel discussion titled, “The Outlook for Independent Specialists” on Thursday, June 9 at 12:30 pm. The panel will focus on how independent specialists can thrive during the regulatory, economic and social changes that are occurring. Sonia Szlyk, MD is the Director of Regional Anesthesia, NAPA Mid-Atlantic. She has served as a clinical instructor in regional anesthesia at Stanford University Hospital in Stanford, CA. Dr. Szlyk is an accomplished lecturer and educator specializing in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks and catheters with specialization in pain management modalities for joint replacement, sports medicine, general, and cosmetic surgery. She is board-certified in anesthesiology and an active member of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Fred Davis, MD is the Co-founder and President of ProCare Systems, a Company of North American Partners in Anesthesia. He is a nationally recognized Pain Management specialist whose expertise encompasses a broad range of pain disorders. Dr. Davis received his medical degree in 1977 from Rush University College of Medicine in Chicago. He completed his post-graduate internship in Arizona at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program, and then completed his residency in anesthesia at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Dr. Davis' Board certifications include the National Board of Medical Examiners in 1978, a diploma from the Board of Anesthesiology in 1988, and diploma from the American Academy of Pain Management in 1989.
