NAPA’s Dr. Steven Weintraub Educates Healthcare Professionals on Remote Video Auditing at the 10th Annual Perioperative Medicine Summit

Focus on Improving Patient Safety and Compliance in the Operating Room

North American Partners in Anesthesia’s (NAPA) Steven Weintraub, MD, will be a featured speaker to health professionals engaged in management of the perioperative patient at the 10th Annual Perioperative Medicine Summit. The event will take place February 26-28, 2015 at Westin Kierland Hotel and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ.

Dr. Weintraub will present on the topic, “Remote Video Auditing (RVA) as a Patient Safety Tool in the Operating Room.” During his breakout session, Dr. Weintraub will discuss how RVA serves as a technological solution for noncompliance surrounding safety measures in perioperative care. In addition, attendees will gain insights into the benefits of RVA in the Operating Room environment, the implementation process and how it significantly enhances safety and compliance measures related to surgical time-outs, overnight terminal cleaning, as well as sign-in, time-out and sign-out performance.

Steven J. Weintraub, MD, serves as the Chief of Risk Management at North American Partners in Anesthesia. Dr. Weintraub graduated from UMDNJ-Rutgers Medical School. He has had training in general surgery and completed his anesthesia residency at Yale School of Medicine located in New Haven, CT. Dr. Weintraub holds fellowships in critical care medicine from Yale and obstetric anesthesia from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston. Mass. Dr. Weintraub has been a member of NAPA since 1985, working in the areas of general and obstetric anesthesia. He has been a director of pre-surgical testing for over 20 years. Dr. Weintraub is a member of the ASA, NYSSA, and the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management.
