Unveils the Paramount Importance of Leadership Development in Healthcare

North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) is proud to announce that its Vice President of Human Resources, Leslie Russo, is featured in the latest issue of Profile Magazine. Profile Magazine, a print and digital publication that identifies and promotes innovation in prominent American industries, showcased extraordinary leadership among healthcare executives in its latest issue (Q1/2016). Ms. Russo was selected for the issue based on her dynamic achievements and contributions throughout her diverse and extensive career in the healthcare industry.

Most recently, Ms. Russo spearheaded NAPA’s new leadership development program, NAPA SELECT. SELECT stands for Seeking Elite Leaders through Education, Commitment and Training. The initiative addresses the distinct differences and needs for leadership development within the healthcare industry, helping NAPA clinicians navigate organizational roles outside of the operating room. The unique, customized program is anesthesia-specific educating future leaders on topics including optimal leadership style, strategic persuasion, effective hiring, emotional intelligence and navigating the political and healthcare environment.

Leslie has over 20 years of progressive human resources experience, including more than 13 years in senior management leadership roles in both for-profit and non-profit healthcare industries. A member of the NAPA team since 2006, Leslie has led the development of standardized protocols for both the corporate compliance and clinical recruitment functions. She was instrumental in leading Human Resources to be a strategic business partner within NAPA, aligning the departmental goals and practices with overall organizational goals and objectives. Leslie holds a BA in Psychology and an MBA degree with an emphasis in management from Jacksonville State University. She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM – SCP) and is currently a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Health Care Compliance Association.
