North American Partners in Anesthesia Achieves Top Honors from Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services for Survey Results in Pain Management
HCAHPS Scores Place Practice above State and National Rankings
North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA), the largest single specialty anesthesia and perioperative management company in the U.S., recently achieved top placement in the Hospital-level HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) pain management category for New Jersey. NAPA offers chronic and acute pain services through the anesthesia department at Monmouth Medical Center as well as their affiliated pain management practice, Monmouth Pain Care, located in Monmouth, NJ.
The 2014 first quarter results translated into a ranking in the 99th percentile of the state and in the 90th percentile nationally. Under the leadership of Matthew Klein, MD, both the anesthesia department and pain practice have focused on continuous improvements in care and service, which is reflected in steady progress in their HCAHPS scores quarter over quarter.

The HCAHPS survey is the premier national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care. HCAHPS, also known as the CAHPS Hospital Survey, is a survey instrument and data collection methodology for measuring patients' perceptions of their hospital experience. The HCAHPS Survey is composed of 27 items, among them an assessment of pain management.
